1. Overview
OwnRun is built privacy-first: your runs, health metrics, and training plans are stored on your device by default and are not uploaded to any server.
This policy explains what we process, why, and the choices you have.
2. Data stored on your device
Activity data (runs, distances, paces, heart rate, GPS tracks), health metrics you enter, settings, and generated training plans are kept in local storage on your device.
This data is not sent to us and is only removed when you delete it or uninstall the app.
3. What we do not collect
No account is required to use OwnRun. There are no social features, no feed, and no friends list.
We do not sell data, and health or activity data is never used for advertising.
4. Optional connections
Strava: if you choose to connect Strava, your activity history is imported into the app and marked by source. You can disconnect at any time.
Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in, we use Google only to identify you; no activity or health data is uploaded.
5. Weather lookup
When you view the weather for an activity, we query the Open-Meteo service using the activity’s approximate start location and time. A small snapshot is cached locally; no account identifier is attached to the request.
The pace-adjustment tool may also fetch a weather forecast for an upcoming run using the approximate location of your most recent run; the same rounded coordinates and no account identifier are sent.
6. Health data and advertising
Any data read from Apple Health or Google Health Connect is used only to display your own metrics. It is never used for advertising or profiling.
7. Your controls
You can review, export, and delete your local data at any time by deleting the app or using the app’s data management tools where available.
